Everyone in real estate would agree that it takes the right ingredients to be able to create a real estate deal or opportunity. I found a situation in which actually knowing about ingredients is ripe for a real estate development or investment opportunity, especially in Michigan. Knowing about geologic hydrogen would not seem like a priority in our business, but it seems there are now millions of reasons to learn.
The below linked article about how the State of Michigan has already invested $7.5 million specifically in geologic hydrogen caught my attention. They are aware that it could drastically improve emissions and become a new energy source, especially for a State so reliant upon truck and auto traffic. Michigan is looking to make progress, knowing that other states (including Iowa and Nebraska) are already drilling in an effort to be “first in” on the opportunity.
There are numerous possibilities to explore, ideally before the research is complete. Among them would be for someone that is a commercial land owner in these areas and the potential for either selling high or repurposing for the long-term. Meanwhile, there may be opportunities right now to acquire land which matches at a very low price from a seller that didn’t think to research geologic hydrogen. Seriously.
Meanwhile, personally I am among those that knew zero about any of this until finding the story and looking into it. Those of you that know me close up know I don’t spend time on science developments. It’s now something I can use to better serve an existing or new client. When that happens, my spending a part of every working day researching for real estate opportunities will have paid off again. Chances are you and your team are not researching science, research grants, and discussions taking place in other parts of the country.
If you have a research person or team working toward your business development, you still won’t need to. Let my team and me put you “first in” on what’s next! Book a collaboration at your convenience through our website!
