Banking On Marketing To Gen Z

An important component of marketing, whether real estate related or not, is knowing what your audience wants in addition to who your audience is. The below linked research shows banking trends among Gen Z, and compares them against “all employed Americans”. One of the more interesting findings is how Gen Z considers security and reliability more important than “excellent customer service”, while all of the age groups favor the opposite.

The point is that if a bank is marketing toward Gen Z, they could highlight the security of their website, app, and so on. Doing so is a version of appealing to your target audience. Of course, a bank does not only appeal to a certain age group, but it is possible that some of their marketing and advertising is focused to Gen Z.

These are things to be aware of when it comes to real estate marketing. You may have a property or opportunity to market which appeals to a certain age group or target audience. An example could be a downtown studio apartment or condo above a health food store and with a bus or train stop very close by. The demographics of the area may be people in their 20s and 30s, which means you would not highlight features which senior citizens would be looking for.

Another lesson from research such as the below linked article is being able to learn about the type of research being tracked. Knowing about elements which impact actions by advertisers and influencers could play a role in how you market a property or opportunity, whether for sale, rent, or investment. For that matter, a bank may be looking for a branch to serve the needs of its Gen Z target audience.

You would not have this type of information without researching industries and trends which are not directly real estate related. Having the right info can make you “first in” on a great opportunity!
